Birds Of A Feather

Have you ever seen that Blind Melon video when the little bee girl finally finds all of the other bees? I sort of felt that this morning when I stumbled upon this site.

Beef & Cheddar Hot Pocket

It's as if I visited an old friend for the first time in years. The kind of friend that you don't need to talk to for a couple of years yet the second you see each other again it's as if you saw them yesterday and you just slide back into the friendship. I have a couple of friends that fall into this category. One is my old pal Bill whom I went to school with back in the day. Him and his wife are expecting so I try to call every now and then to offer up any fatherly advise I can. The other is an old friend I call Beef & Cheddar.

B&C was the first flavor of hot pocket that I ever had. I would have to say that over the years at least 70% of all the pockets I have eaten where B&C although I had not had one in about a year. Just as with Bill, I found myself feeling as if I had one just yesterday and enjoyed my time with it.

I ask you, the reader to get back in touch with someone you haven't talked to in a while. An old friend that would appreciate a call out of the blue just to say hello. I can't promise you that it will satisfy your hunger the way B&C did for me, but I bet you will feel full of good feelings.

Chicken Quesadilla - LEAN Pocket

We are going into uncharted territory here. This one is a follow up to my previous post reviewing the normal version of this particular pocket.

Upon first bite I was delighted to find that the tortilla taste was still in tact from it's counterpart. FOr the most part it tasted incredibly simular to the normal version save for an unsusualy tangy aftertaste. I don't know that it was a planned flavor but rather a by product of the "leaning" process. It was enough to ruin my pocket experience and therefore can not in good concience recommend this pocket unless you are on some sort of diet.

Ramen Noodles

Due to budgetary reasons I have gone ahead and purchased 10 bricks of ramen noodles for 1$. This may or may not mean there will be a hot pocket related post for a little bit. Apparently ramen noodles are an extremely dynamic food.

Four Cheese & Four Meat Pizza Revisited

Revisited this one today. Cooked in the same exact fashion as the first one. It was all there, every element one would seek in a perfectly cooked pocket. It crisped up nice, the cheese was evenly melted without getting to runny or undercooked, etc....

I must say that I came to the conclusion that this just isn't the right flavor for me. I also feel that sadly I must renege my previous post that had you the reading public believing that the sheer amount of ingredients was not a hinderence when it came to this particular flavor. I found myself feeling a bit let down by the fact that while each of the individual meats were good, there just simply was not enough of each to satisfy me.

As in life, too much of a good thing can sometimes be bad. I'm just sorry I had to find out this way.
